Whats the best way to have internet in your home??. Stop wondering now, if your at your house then what's the best way to communicate with a person 2 miles away?? the telephone right, yes the basic necessity for your your voice transmission is your phone. Now don't start wondering why i am blabbering when everyone knows, but all internet services work over phone lines too so you see how important it is for you to have a phone for information transmission over the internet.
In India we have around 4+ million of internet subscribers well thats a pathetic rate as it is and should imporve to atleast 20 million if we are to get into the way of life today as almost all the basic neccsities can be fulfilled by a click of the mouse, with basic i mean buying groceries, shopping, banking and what not almost forgot blogging (sic).
So why does DSL suck neways, well just for starters a DSL is a direct subscriber line that connects you to the internet over a router thats connected to your phone line, so what does that mean, well it means that you have total dedicated bandwidth that your phone provider gives you to your pc with incoming and outgoing calls on through the router (remember the modem, well thats not a DSL though).
So why the hell does the DSL suck, hmmm how many of you guys use a DSL with 256 kbps speed but still feel afraid from downloading stuff, aha so i got to my point now, well the DSL's in India have a fixed limit for downloads which scares me, with the amount of sites i surf and stuff i download i am really scared of that, I had a DSL line from MTNL on for three days with 1 GB download for a month i finished off 500MB in 3 days and didnt surf much for a few more days out of fear that i have to last 500 MB more for 27 more days.
I had to eventually call MTNL up and gracefully disconnect the service and switch back to my cable guy who gave me unlimited downloads with good speed at a nominal cost. So what if I have to wait 24 hours to finish 100Mb of downloads which i could have done in 12 hours with my DSL, atleast i dont have to get nervous about paying the DSL guys more money just like that.
Also for those guys who think that these DSL guys provide you with unlimited downloads well yes they do, but who the heck is gonna wake up at unearthly hours just to sit and download stuff, no wonder these guys provide unlimited downloads at those odd hours as they know almost 90% of their customers wont be using the internet then.
I would rather rule the day and sleep at night, rather than fearing the day and ruling the night, just the heck to surf the net and download stuff.
Hi there. I own several blogs on the Internet, however I still love writing here, because it's my rambling space, no fear, no restrtictions. I write anything and everything here, so keep coming back. Read more about me

BSNL has come out with an unlimited bandwidth plan for Rs. 900 / month. Includes telephone rental.
