Golmaal really didn’t have to return – Rediff.com – It is refreshing, this long-overdue ability shown by our stars to mock themselves. Instead of shying away from three of his biggest clunkers — one of which he produced himself — Devgan is instead taking the punch front and centre, and knowing that the joke is on him makes it that much funnier.

Golmaal Returns Review – RealBollywood.com – It needs to be made clear that the film is not actually a sequel of the hit comic caper Golmaal (2006) by the same team. It just has the same four main protagonists of the original in a different situation. Shreyas comes in place of Sharman Joshi though. And though the era-old film was a decent story in itself and even remade as a Marathi film in the 80s, the Golmaal sequel doesn’t match up to either while deriving from both.
