Live.com goes live
Posted on 8th March 2006 by Keith DsouzaIts been a long time since Microsoft started working on Live.com which is somewhat similar to Netvibes.
Some of the features they have in live search.
The live search offers a search slider bar that offers previews of data in various forms, perhaps just the Internet address of the site or maybe a snippet of text. As the slider is adjusted more or less information appears.
A smart scroll function that displays all search result on one single page.
Various ways to view pictures as small thumbnail shots or full sized images.
In addition they have included macros (which help users to save repetitive tasks in a small program and run them automatically) to save search paramaters and run the same search in future, the macros can also be published so that people with similar interests can be saved.
Microsoft has also launched a search companion for Internet Explorer titled Windows Live Toolbar beta.
The current version though is in testing phase and Microsoft will later replace Msn.com search with this, I believe that Vista the eagerly awaited Operating system will have all the features from live.com, for more live products and downloads including Live Toolbar, Office Live, Windows Onecare, and other stuff visit this site Live Ideas.
Overall the search market seems to be hotting up and the consumers can look forward to having the best products in near future from Microsoft and Yahoo and not to miss out the king of search engines Google.
All i can say is happy searching.
