I have usually stuck to programming since I am good at that, but since I started blogging I have fallen towards a bit of my creative site in designing which I usally experiment on my site, for starters I am not that good a designer but can create some nice things now, but am still on stressing on it to get better.

Hope i get good at it sometime soon though.

I just created my first logo for a website, which was for a contest at a site. How I did it? Well here is a bit of history on it.

I just stumbled on this site whymyblogstinks.com through one of my friend's site and saw a contest going on there for creating logo's, well i just decided to enter it, he he.

 

I created a logo for the site for the contest and submitted to them, here is the logo below.

 

 

Actually what motivated me to create this logo was the domain name, whymyblogstinks, which eventually led me to thinking what stinks.I settled on two things bad odour and dog poo in accordance to the blog name, but finalized on dog poo.

I went on a hunt for something that was a image with dog poo in and found the one that suited me, this was the one that i found;

Now this was not what my original idea was, so i sat with photoshop and started to think about ways i could modify it, then I got an idea on getting the straws in such a way that it would make a inverse L and end with the words why my blog stinks.

So eventually i put in some effects used a bit of painful patches to make the straw look like what it is, along with some effects on the right, where you see the steps and woh i got the logo done.

Well how do you think this is for a amateur / starter in design concepts, let me know whether i should dump photoshop or just try and get better, no better judge than you.
