TalketyI would be surprised if you haven't heard of the giant in PC to PC calls Skype, here is a contender who does the same but its still in its inception stages.

Unlike Skype, Talkety is only a web-based telephony service which provides you with cheaper calls from phone to phone using VOIP from you PC without having to pay any extra charges to your phone provider.

This is another of those sites which takes advantage of the vastly used VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) to provide cheaper call rates to consumers across the world, though VOIP is not a new thing and has been vastly used across customer care centers, it has finally started to register a mass user base among regular PC users.

VOIP is the best available and cheapest way to call a person over a PC.

The best thing about Talkety is that you do not require any additional hardware including headsets and without requiring you to download any additional software.

Talkety also a nice little interface on its homepage, where in if you enter the two numbers that you would like to have a call between, it will show you the amount you will have to pay per minute.

Talkety will simple connect two phones whether cellular or land-line over the internet, without you having to shell out anything extra except for the charges you pay Talkety for the calls.

Psst.. Talkety is giving out 30 minutes of free airtime for early sign-ups.

You already have what it takes…
Talkety will connect any two phones that have a number.
* No Headsets
* No Downloads
* Nothing to install

Talkety will connect any two phones, cellular or land-line, by number. With ease and effectiveness, all one must do is type in his number, the number he wishes to dial, click “connect” and let Talkety do the rest.

The caller’s phone rings. By answering, the call is triggered, and the second phone rings at the other end, connecting the two individuals with clarity.

Leveraging online accessibility and immediate functionality, one can take advantage of Talkety from anywhere, at anytime, without any extra necessities.

If you’re connected in the least, Talkety will now have you connected to the fullest extent.

This is similar to Jajah.com except slightly more expensive. 30 minutes free sounds good, though.

I visited Jajah.com they seem to be down for maintainance, though they have no links right now leading to any pricing information.

I will try and check on it later to see how their pricing structure is based.

I’m pretty sure SkypeOut being free to/from anywhere in north america is cheaper than anything anyone else can give.
