Continuing with part I Essential know how to start blogging I am now going to elaborate on the kind of software you can use.

Starting off is when you start blogging you will require to get a design in place, a database to store contents to, a web based software like PHP to show your content, a know how of web based markup language like HTML, well the list gets longer.

But heave a sigh of relief, you literally don't have to know anything of these above things and more except for writing your content.
Well when you have softwares like Wordpress, Typepad and Textpattern you don't need to actually learn anything except for writing your blog posts.

I personally use joomla which is a CMS, what I call the softwares above is a blogger CMS, which is just for blogging.

There are lots of hacks AKA customizable tuning you can do with these softwares altogehter to turn these into a altogether different thing from its basic conception.

Free and commercial templates are the rocking thing I like about these softwares too, they allow you to change the look and feel of your blogs, not exactly tying you to just these, you can create your own templates too.

If you are a designer and want to create your own templates for these softwares, here is a big offer i will give you, submit your template designs here in the comments section or email me at dsouza.keith [at] gmail [dot] com and I will guarantee the top three best templates a free conversion to any of these softwares you want.

Well if you are passionate about blogging and need some help in tweaking your software I am avialable but due to time constraint I will not be able to get all done simulteanously but I will help you out nevertheless.

BTW my new template will probably be released this week somewhere, as World cup's here and I just can't miss it, so I am re-scheduling my entire schedule.

Here is a sneak peek on what you can expect further in this series

Part 3: Installing blogging softwares on your website (will cover wordpress, textpattern, joomla with links to how to use it)
Part 4: How to spice up your blog content.

And few more parts keep coming back. Let me know how you like it.
