Well I have seen people write about SEO and more SEO, well i have benifitted from that quite a lot though, but I wanted to write something about what search engines really like.

Yea I am not a SEO, I am a programmer and I see things the other way round as a perspective of a programmer and that's why I am writing this, people I may not be avialable if you want to pelt stones at me after you read this but yes your comments are always welcome.

What is XHTML?. If you are a blogger who is not interested in knowing things other than writing then this is not for you, i mean your blogger software may have already taken care of it if not then change it. Well but XHTML is Xstensible Hyper Text Markup Language, well for simple definition it means XML + HTML that's it. You may already know what XML is when you do RSS. But here is my take on, Why do XHTML sites get featured more in Search Engines.

Before you read more here is another term i would like to add DOM to what i am going to say, well DOM in simple sense means a skeleton of the entire page, information to those who are intersted about every node i have (well think anatomy).

Now what is DOM?? DOM means Document Object Module. Yea all Geeky but all what search engines like, why?. Well a DOM Document is more easily searchable than a normal wayword HTML document, why i call HTML document a wayword document is because i know HTML from front to the back and can proudly say that, infact i know XHTML the same way too.

Now now impatient I know you are (all above things are important though), well why does XHTML standards matter is if the search engines want to see all the links from a page to the other they will create a sycronized list of links depending on the DOM structure and then crawl it updating the sync list everytime they find new links, well its more complicated than i am saying it is, way to more actually, but If you have a proper structure for your site then you can start your SEO campiagn fast enough.

Anyone interested in knowing more about DOM let me know, I am also going to write up a tutorial shortly as to how to write your own search engine kinda crawler ( BOT for lots of people ) with java, any one intested in first hand information let me know.
